As our most popular course, Success as a New Supervisor is designed to support employees who are stepping into supervisory roles for the first time—or who want to strengthen their foundation as people leaders.
The transition from individual contributor to supervisor brings new responsibilities, expectations, and challenges that are rarely intuitive and often learned through trial and error.
This course provides practical guidance on the core skills new supervisors need to succeed, including setting expectations, communicating with clarity, managing performance, giving feedback, and building respectful, productive relationships with staff. Participants will explore how to balance accountability with empathy, navigate common supervisory challenges, and shift mindset from “doing the work” to “leading the work.”
Drawing from proven supervisory models, the session also addresses confidence-building, decision-making, delegation, and establishing credibility early in the role. Participants will leave with concrete tools, greater self-awareness, and a clear framework for leading effectively and confidently in their new supervisory role.
